Katazome: A Blog Worth Reading

Brian over at the Bryan's Japanese Textiles Blog has posted a lovely entry today on a type of paste resist dying called Katazome.

I'm always a nut for technique and skills but the reason I point this particular post out is that he does a wonderful job of giving the reader a keen glimpse into Japanese culture.  Part of my journey and challenge in Japanese Embroidery is in the wanting to simply be given the recipe for all things rather than learning over time.  The beauty of learning from a master like Noguchi san is that time allows one to live through the process, understand it, embody it...

Enjoy!
