For some reason I had to relearn how to pad the Ume blossoms correctly as it had been a while. Perhaps it's because I've spent so much time on Chrysanthemums on Sake Boxes (Btw, I'm playing hooky from Sake with this challenge piece and feeling rather saucy for doing so).
Who knows why proper padding technique fled the mind and I had to look it up? Next post - how to pad correctly to make a nice, plump blossom ready for long and short stitching. Note: first picture above displays my sad padding attempt.
