At the last post on this project, some of the dark purple was in place and I had begun the metallic over stitching:

Next in are the light purple accents. I've extended the red out as a wedge at the seams:
The really fun part about these outer bands is that I'm using a bit of metallic within the stitch. This is giving the piece lots of pop. What about the black that appears in the photos…. let's forget about that. We'll say it just goes away… :)
